Nokia Asha 303 image quality

Assalamualaikum and good day you guys, oh and for christians, wish you all merry xmas and happy new year. anyway i wanna make a review of the latest Nokia device which is using s40 OS, but with a whooping 1 giga hertz processor! i just bought that device for 2 weeks now, and its suuuper fast better than any old s40 device. and i snap some photos to show you how this phone perform, and if you guys did not know this device, i show you this is Nokia Asha 303!(oh and it is capacitive touch screen, the 1st s40 capacitive touch screen):

Nokia Asha 303 camera specs: 3.2 megapixel fixed focus, face detection, and some effects and self timer, no led flash though

Anyway here is the image quality, start with the outdoor image quality

Outdoor Image quality

Ok for image quality, this phone on out doors is pretty good, the coloring is great, and noise is under control, BUT, the image tends to became white all sudden because of the sunlight and the white sky makes the image turn white fringing. If you look closely at image 2, the tree part, the coloring tends to wash out and became like the green color has been painted. so the color of the tree is not original, buit the other image like 1 and 4 the image of the tree is slightly better than image 2. But give a credit that the image of sea water is great, it was real and the color doesn't change. but the image turns a bit whitish probably because of a sun light.

Shading Outdoor area:

The image is pretty nice for a cheap device, better than fully outdoor image, the noise is low, the colour balance is good and dynamic range is par. but if you look closely, there is a slight over coloured green on the tree, its like the colour of the tree is been painted. and the image turns slightly white fringing when is a bit under a sun, between the whole 5 picture, for me the most excellent image quality is image 2 and 4,with an excellent color balance and less white fringing on whole image.

Macro mode( just want to try it since Nokia Asha 303 does not have auto focus)

Well, well well, the object in this 5 picture are blurred out since there is no auto focus, for example, image 5 the hibiscus flower tends to blurred out but a positive side is the colour and the background of the object is kept under control, low noise and excellent colour balance. Image four and three the object who closest to camera tends to blurred but the other leaf is sharp and clear. image 2 and 1 the closest to the camera is fully blur but the color is really good and acceptable and the image of the coconut is quite good but there is some blur side on the object espeacially near the camera, over all, the macro is quite improvement than the last fixed focus nokia phone.

Indoor image quality:

Well all of the image has alot of noise even in the mid bright enviorment. the image turns yellowish because of the yellow light in the image itself, but the positive side is the image still have some good color rendering and the object of the image is still real and good. i think if Nokia put this device an Led flash like Nokia X2, i think it will be awesome!

Outdoor at night:

Well, if you guest it, it has a lot of noise, and its worse when on outdoor, the image tends to turn dark since there is no led flash and no night mode on the camera(pretty sucks eh?) but on the image 4, the image is the best between the other images since there is a lower noise and good colour balance where as the other image tends to turn the image blur and a lot of noises, even i took it on the spot light.

In conclusion, the phone produce a pretty good image quality( only at the daylight though), even though is only 3.2. megapioxel fixed focus but it has achieved a good image quality, pretty cool for a mid range device, so are you interested by it?? in Malaysia is cost Rm 500 in original Nokia store, i bought it RM 520( at non Nokia store, dammit!) approx. around 150 dollar or 100 euro. anyway thanks for reading and keep in touch on this blog, i will make a review on ther phones, see you guys next time assalamualaikum and good bye.

Nokia N8 and Nokia E7 Battery life capabilities

Hello and assalamualikum guys, it's been long time i did not do any phone reviews since i've been busy with my studies(repeating my semester though.you can laugh if you want to). Any way, this is a battle with two handsets Nokia N8 and E7, the battle is, how was the battery life when using music, calling, or gaming and some web browsing and media playing and some fiddling here and there. here is
Nokia N8

Nokia E7

ok now, before we start the battle, let me tell you battery life in phones are varies result, some people got 3 days, 5 days or worst 12 hours, it depends how much you use it, this battle are being tested and my experience using it,i dunno about you guys. (i still use this 2 phones)Both Phones has a 50% brightness settings, music volume is 70%, call ringtone maximum volume and calling is maximum volume as well, no application running(except menu).

Ok now, here is the battle, lets start with Nokia N8,

In full signal Place:

Calling for 5 hours(apperoximately)(i'm using digi easy so call and messaging is free but maximum limit is 45 minutes per call)
Listen to music for 4 hours using headphone(usually, i listen music when i take a nap and some time if i boring)
record video for 30 minutes(approx.)(i'm skater, so i want to make skate footage using this phone, its a good vid. quality though)
Messaging some 200 messages( well, i like messaging more than calling)
fiddling here and there( well i don't use web browsing in phone that much so i can't tell you how many hours or minutes i web browsing)

result: 2 days
Comment: pretty good for a multimedia phone, but not really impressive

As in low signal coverage using the same method it only can stand 1 and a half day since when signal is low the phone is trying to find a signal which it cost battery to drain faster.

Nokia E7:

Result: 1 and a half day:
Comment: well what can i say, the display is bigger than N8, but the battery capicity is same like n8 Bl-4D 1200 mah battery. so the battery life is lesser than n8, but E& is a business phone, maybe Nokia could upgrade it to 1500 mah like other e series i think will be impressive battery life.

In low signal coverage is not so good, i can only stand 1 day, which is not good. so if you live in low signal you have to charge every day.

ok, that was a full result if you heavy use it. i also mange to medium use it. lket us look at Nokia N8 when medium use it.

2.5-3 hours of calling( still using digi easy)
listen to music for 2 hours using loud speaker and headphone( using the same headphone and same volume loudness)
i don't record video at all, just snap some pictures (maybe around 20 pics)
messaging is still around 200
fiddling here and there.

Result: 3 days
Comment: well, pretty good, thats all i can say.

But that's when i got in the full signal coverage, but in low signal coverage it can stand 2 days.

Nokia E7

In full line network coverage:

2.5-3 hours of calling( still using digi easy)
listen to music for 2 hours using loud speaker and headphone( using the same headphone and same volume loudness)
i don't record video at all, just snap some pictures (maybe around 20 pics)
messaging is still around 200
fiddling here and there.

Result: 2 days
Comment: a bit improvement, but not impressive

In low signal coverage it can only stand 1/4 days. but at least it has a bit improvement.

Light usage when using Nokia n8 in full signal coverage:

2 hours of calling (using digi easy)
Listen music for 30 minutes- 1 hour using loudspeaker and earphone.
i dont' take pictures and videos
messaging around 100 messages.
not so fiddling this handsets.

Result: 3 and a half days
Comment: slight improvement for light usage, but i think not many people will light use this handset since it's a MULTIMEDIA phone.

As for low signal coverage it can stand for 2 3/4 days.

Nokia E7 in full signal coverage:

2 hours of calling (using digi easy)
Listen music for 30 minutes- 1 hour using loudspeaker and earphone.
i dont' take pictures and videos
messaging around 100 messages.
not so fiddling this handsets.

Result: 3 days
Comment: its good and impressive but i doubt a businessman using this phone in light usage.

In low signal coverage it can stand 2 and a half days.

Individual usage:

Music Capabilities on Nokia N8( remember i got this result when i'm using earphone or external speaker, the volume of the headphone is 70% and external speaker is 50%.oh and i'm using my useless sim card just to make this review. the music started just after i fully charge it and untill the battery is dead, i'm using nokia c2-01 as for stop watch)

Nokia n8 can stand 27 hours 25 minutes when in earphone in no offline mode.
Nokia n8 can stand 45 hours 12 minutes when in earphone in offline mode.

i plug in the external sepaker and here's the result

Nokia n8 can stand 22 hours 21 minutes in no offline mode.
Nokia n8 can stand 35 hours 20 minutes in offline mode.

comment: pretty good for a music capabilities,oh i'm using nokia cheap earphone wh 102 for test. i dunno if i insert an expensive earphones though

Nokia E7 in earphone:

Nokia E7 can stand 30 hours when in earphone in no offline mode.
Nokia E7 can stand 47 hours 30 minutes in earphone in offline mode.

plug in the external speaker and the result:

Nokia E7 can stand for 25 hours 2 minutes in no offline mode.
Nokia E7 can stand 32 hours in no offline mode.

comment: wow! although the screen is larger than n8 but the music capabilites is greatre than N8, remember this is my experince, i don't know how you guys result, maybe different than mine. Form what i saw, in terms of calling and messaging, Nokia N8 is bettery life less consumed than E7 but when in Multimedia, E7 is better handling battery consumption than N8. this is my experience. i dunno about you guys.

Using loud speaker for music capabilities, i use the volume 70% and here is the result:

Nokia N8 can stand for 12 hours 40 minutes in no offline mode.
Nokia N8 can stand 15 hours 10 minutes in offline mode.

Nokia E7 can stand 15 hours 35 minutes in no offline mode.
Nokia E7 can stand 19 hours 2 minutes in offline mode.

Comment: maybe E7 loud speaker for music is not as loud as N8. maybe

Web Browsing.

Ok, i'm not using web browsing much in phones but i have to do it, since many people like to surf web using phones and here is the result ( i'm using wifi at my house)

Nokia N8 can manage 4.5 hours in web browsing.(including watching some videos in youtube)

Nokia E7 can mange 4 hours in web browsing. ( including watching videos in youtube)

Comment: well, phones cannot replace laptop or desktop. although its poor result since some other phones have better and longer battery life when siurfing the web. i doubt many people to web surfing using phones for long time. i'm getting dizzy when surfing web using phone if too long i surf the web.

Watching movies:

ok this is a final test. i have downloaded some movies in both of these phones, i have download 10 movie inside both of these phone and the duration is 1 hour and 30 minutes(well all kinds of genere of movies i put inside both of these device) and i'm using headphone to watch the movies(because usually people do that or even attached it to external speaker to make it even louder sound.) and here is the result:

Nokia n8 can stand 5 and a half hour around 4 movies.
Nokia E7 can stand 4 hours 20 minutes around 3 movies.

comment: well N8 has a smaller screen so it has a n advantage to make battery less consumed. but E7 scores pretty good also thanks to Clear Black Display which Nokia claimed it will caonsume less battery life.

Conclusion, well that is all my result. this is only my experience, and the result is varies. it depends on how you manage the handset. anyway that is all, have a good day and assalamualaikum
